Murmurations Aerial Dance Pieces
Multicorde & Live Cello
The Empress
Nicole Dagesse, Liana Nuse
The Empress has the unique power of connecting the realms of spirit and earth. The embodied divine feminine travels between realms, interconnected through multiple strands, tethers and connections. Nicole and Liana have created a liminal space in which to explore aspects of the Empress through improvised scores. “In her healthy and radiant form, [The Empress] sustains and gives vitality to a complex world of empowered human relationships at peace with a world inspired by spiritual values.” (Lee Irwin, “Gnostic Tarot”)
Aerial Fabric
Dreamscape
Laura Savard, Alex Prussin, Chris Florian, Ava Carroll, Kristin Florian, Natalie Cronin, Ylva Hellquist
The audience arrives to find the dreamers already asleep, scattered across the floor, rolling, stirring, and settling again as the room fills. Then the dream begins to rise. Three cards move through this landscape. The Moon rules the dreaming mind. Shadows take on new shapes and the line between real and imagined dissolves, the rules of waking life fall away and all is possible. The dream of Temperance demonstrates a world that refuses to fulfill desires at the expense of harming others. The dream of Strength demonstrates how physical power and emotional vulnerability can rest in balance. In the end, the Moon slips away and the dreamers stay behind.
Lyra
Transformation
Jacob Ireland, Nasreen Broomand, Ann Chiarenzelli, Leah Niemasz-Cavanagh, Jynx (Friday), Sydney Amato (Saturday)
These four characters all look at how things (or the way we see them) change. From the fool’s wide-eyed exploration of the world to the end of one cycle and beginning of the next, these cards will take you through a journey of life, learning, decay, and rebirth. From the Fool’s innocent curiosity and willingness to step into the unknown to the Magician’s discovery of personal power and potential, each card represents a different stage of understanding. The Hierophant introduces the influence of tradition, structure, and shared wisdom, reminding us that learning often comes from the beliefs and teachings passed down to us. As the journey continues, Death marks the ending of one cycle and the beginning of another, emphasizing that decay and loss are necessary parts of renewal. The Hanged Person invites us to pause and reconsider our perspectives, showing how change can begin when we learn to see the world differently. Friday performances include the Fool and Saturday includes the Hanged Person.
Pole
Pole and Dance Party
Harley (Friday 6 & 8pm), Sage Horsey (Saturday 6 & 8pm)
Soften your gaze. Gently step into a deeply somatic container. Invite yourself to release old patterns and return home to your body. It is safe to breathe and simply be here. Etched in skin and bone and solid tones. Notice feelings, colors, shapes, and patterns that emerge. Let go of expectation and trust that you are enough, exactly as you.
Wheel of Fortune
Aerial Fabric
Scarlett Parlia Wetmore , Samantha Halsmer, Charlotte Deutsch,Thea Perry, Rasika Budnitz, Phoebe Krcmar, Zia Grannis, Matilda Fox, Izobel Calfee, Lienna Monte
When the Wheel of Fortune is invoked, fate controls the dance of life. One action creates a cascade of events, and time moves forward and backward along the connective paths. In this piece, our Level 3 students consider how to play with time, consequence, and connection. Notice when you see The Wheel at play, notice when you feel it tug and pull in your own life.
Lyra & Aerial Fabric
Celestial Navigation
Fig Berke, Aurora Novak, Rasika Budnitz, Elizabeth Lawson, Chris Florian, Jacob Ireland
This adventure follows a pirate (Aurora) on their journey through the celestial cards, exploring the mysteries of the universe. Guided by the Sun’s warmth, joy, and vitality (Rasika), the pirate discovers the power of optimism and the clarity that comes from understanding the world around them. The Stars (Elizabeth) offer a path of hope, inspiration, and renewal, encouraging the pirate to trust in the future and continue forward. As the journey continues, the Moon (Chris) leads the pirate deeper into the unknown, where dreams, illusions, and hidden fears challenge their understanding of reality.
Aerial Rope
Three Card Draw
Ethan Goldman, Laura Edling, Elana Rosenberg,
Before the first act begins, hold a question in your mind. Don’t say it aloud, and don’t tell anyone. Over the course of the performance each card will be revealed and explained in words and in movement as the three Rope performers climb, hang, arch and spin. Notice what strikes a chord and what resonates with your question.

The Fool’s Image
Joanna Guyette, Alicia Fisk, Celia DeVoe, Tory Eichler, Haley Greenyer, Ava Carroll, Christina Saunders, Riley Michaeli, Margaret Allen, Fig Berke, Jill Duprey
In tarot, a card pulled upside down is sometimes called "The Fool's Image." It tells a version of the story that's tangled up in contradictions, and demonstrates what can happen when an archetype’s power is used out of balance. This piece explores this idea with The Fool, Justice, The Devil, and The World. When do you see the world upside down? How do you respond when your powers are out of balance?
